Talofa lava, afiomai, ta’tala mai aa’o. My name is Uga M, Welcome to my first blog which you can see as my title -LOVE FOOD OR HATE FOOD?...
I do, because I’m an islander who comes from Samoa,Tonga, and other island’s. In FLT this year(2018) I have made Lasagna Bake,TBH it was delicious because me and my friends made it. Why do I say islanders love food?..Well honestly there are lots of reasons why.
This is one of the reason why Samoa loves food differently from New Zealand. Us in the islands we make food on the ground and cover it with banana leafs and...WARNING:HOT HOT ROCKS.
I know, crazy right? but not to me. Anyways, carry on…. growing up with family cooking for family and important events it tells us a story between New Zealand, Samoa and also other cultures.
Talofa lava, malo e lelei Uga,
ReplyDeleteI loved your descriptive writing in this blog post, you had enough detail that I could make a picture in my head of what the cooking of the food in Samoa would look like.
A next step for you I would encourage is to not use text language like TBH as your blog should be using formal language.
In New Zealand an oven in the ground is a hangi, what is it called in Samoa?
Nga mihi,
Mark
Hi Uga
ReplyDeleteI found out today how to look at student blogs and when I saw your title, Love or hate food? it immediately got my attention. Lasagne bake would be my fav food as well, but Mrs McCartney doesn't cook it very often. If you have got a good lasagne recipe, I'd love you to share one, so I can cook a weekend meal for us. Great to see you blogging - well done. Vaai oe i taeao taeao.
